aunties and uncles.
by two after twenty
I finally went to “Aunties & Uncles” for brunch with Senaa yesterday. I don’t want to sound too much like I’m about to burst into song, buuuuut it was incredible. This place now hangs out at the top of my “favourite places to eat brunch in Toronto” list, along with places like Starving Artist, Futures, etc.
I want to marry this place. Charming, bright decor paired with rustic wood chairs. Old board games and used books. Friendly staff. And a really small space, the kind of small where you feel like you are in a cozy coffee shop in the middle of nowhere. The food? My breakfast ham was to die for. And Senaa’s breakfast burger had a fried egg on top. I really don’t think I need to explain further.
I adore places like these, I love the furnishing inside and the food looks so darn good! omg that burger is HUGE haha. Really love the last shot Janice, beautiful framing there :)
Thanks Hien :) These kinds of places are always a photo goldmine, haha. Yes, the burger was ENORMOUS.
OMG! That breakfast burger looks amaaaazing!
Yesss, it was. You can never go wrong w/ a fried egg on top.
You had me with the ‘mac&cheese’ on the sign! Thanks for the add’l menu images~my eyes zoned in on that one giant piece of hash potato. What a lovely spot. I always so enjoy your explorations.
Awww, thanks Tru! :) The hash browns are amaaazing. And yes, it was such a lovely place to visit.
I LOVE Auntie’s and Uncle’s! I live in Winnipeg – but I visited A&U’s a couple of years ago on a trip to TO and fell in love. The breakfast that I had there has still not been beat!
Just found your blog today – it’s great!
Thanks so much! Same to you, too :)
I don’t spend much time in downtown Toronto (let’s be honest, I call anything in Toronto “down town”) but I think I might have to add this place to my life of to-try-when-I-brave-Toronto. =)
Hahaha! You must brave Toronto, and when you do, go here. But don’t go on weekends. The lines are horrendously long.
